Verification and AML
Before any play, we confirm three things: your identity, age and location. This page sets out the documents we ask for, how accounts are monitored and what happens when verification is left incomplete.
1. Why we verify
We only open accounts in regions where gambling is legal locally, and we comply with Canadian age, identity and anti-money laundering rules. Checks keep minors away from our games, stop fraud and the use of stolen cards, and prevent criminal money moving through our cashier.
It is a safeguard for you too. Once your account is verified, it becomes far more difficult for someone else to take control of it or drain the balance.
2. Identity and age checks
We run electronic checks when you sign up. These usually confirm your details in moments. When they cannot, we request documents.
- Photo ID: an unexpired provincial photo card, passport or driver's licence
- Address: a recent document with the name and address on your account, such as a utility bill, a government letter or a statement from your bank
- Payment ownership: a statement or online banking screenshot with your name shown on the e-wallet, card or bank account that funds your payments
Send sharp, full-colour images with nothing cut off: all edges of the document must be visible. On cards, cover every digit apart from the last four. We might also request a selfie to check your face against your ID.
You can't deposit until we've confirmed your age, identity and location.
3. Record keeping and reporting
We retain identity documents, account information and payment records for the period Canadian law sets, after which they are securely deleted. Our Privacy Notice describes how we store and safeguard this data.
We file reports on suspicious activity and certain high-value transactions with the proper authorities whenever Canadian law calls for it. Players cannot be told, by law, whether a report of this kind exists.
4. Ongoing monitoring
Verification is not a one-time step. We keep watching account activity for patterns that need a closer look, including:
- Money paid in and taken out again with hardly any play
- Deposits that suddenly grow larger or become more frequent
- Multiple accounts that share a payment method, a device or an owner
- Deposits from payment methods in another person's name
Withdrawals go to Interac e-Transfer, Visa or Bank Wire / Transfer, up to C$25,000 per day. Larger or unusual requests may trigger extra checks before payment.
5. Sanctions screening and politically exposed persons
Every account is matched against sanctions lists issued in Canada and other countries. We also find out if a player holds an important public position now or did in the past, and if they have family or close business ties to someone in that kind of position.
A match does not automatically block an account. It means we apply closer checks and may need more information before allowing play or payments.
6. Where your money comes from
If your spending rises or your account behaves differently from what we expect, we'll ask where your money comes from. Typical proof includes pay stubs, recent bank statements, tax records, or papers showing a property sale or inheritance. We request only what the check needs.
7. When verification is not completed
Document missing, unreadable or not matching? We pause deposits and withdrawals until it's fixed and tell you exactly what we still need.
If we find forged documents, identity fraud or links to money laundering, the account is closed, winnings are void and the matter goes to the relevant authorities. Our Account Terms set out the full conditions.
